Sorry for the lack of updates lately.... We've been busy living our "outside-of-the-band" lives, while still getting the album out there for reviews, radio play, and so forth.
"Triumph and Insolence" was the most-requested song on That East Coast Show on CKBW a few weeks back. It's been on the station quite a bit, and "Fallen" has made an appearance or two on Q104's Route 104. You can visit either of those links and do some requesting if you wish.
We're getting geared to head to the ECMA's in February to play some shows, take in the beautiful sights of... Sydney... and check out some industry events and the like. Should be a good time. Planning on giving away a lot of CD's and press kits.
CD's are selling well in stores and online, and if you haven't gotten your copy yet, check out the store. They make great Christmas presents too!

<< - Show Saturday the 11th @ Acadia University ->>
We will be opening for the Mellotones at the Shinerama closing party on Saturday evening. The show is on the Main Level of the Student Union Building and costs $5 (free for Shinerama participants). 9pm is the start time. Not sure what time we are going on. If we find out ahead of time I will post the time in the dates section.
Clips from the interview/performance on CKBW will be posted soon.

<< - CD Release show - Thursday, Sept. 2nd @ The Planet! ->>
The show will also feature our friends Picture Show as well as an acoustic set by Adam Malcolm. You can find more info in the dates section.
Hope to see a few people out. Even if you have your CD already, come and have a few drinks so we can thank you for your support! We'll also have T-shirts and 1" Buttons for sale.
08.17.2004
We are currently booking shows for the coming two weeks. We have one show booked for sure (Thursday, September 2nd at the Planet in Halifax, with Picture Show), and are working on a few more.
CD's are also now available at Sam the Record Man and CD Plus in Halifax, and Strings & Things in Bridgewater. They will soon be available in a few more places as well.
"Triumph & Insolence" will be played on CKBW's "That East Coast Show" this Sunday evening, and we are heading to Bridgewater to record an in-studio acoustic performance and interview early next week for play the following Sunday.
08.16.2004
The CD's have arrived! Our online store will be open as of tomorrow. CD's will be available at a few retail locations very soon. We are currently in the process of booking our CD release show in Halifax as well. An official e-mail and press release will go out in the next week or so with all the details on how to get your hands on a CD, and when you can come see us play.
Thanks again for your support throughout the years. We are happy to finally have something to show for all our hard work.
08.12.2004
There was a delay at Cinram during shrinkwrapping. CD's arrived back at Indiepool today and they will be shipped out this afternoon. So we're looking at Monday for the arrival, hopefully. =)
08.09.2004
The CD's have been manufactured. They will be shipped from Toronto tomorrow, so they should arrive here in Wolfville on Thursday at the latest. =)
07.21.2004
The CD's are being manufactured right now. They'll be here around August 9th or so.
We've posted some audio clips in the media section to wet your appetite.

The album is done. Recorded, Overdubbed, Produced, Engineered, Edited, Mixed, Mastered, and Burned. John, Anthony, and I spent a long night doing final mixdowns last night and we had a long day at Redfish mastering with James today. It's all over.
Tomorrow I will send the final master, the artwork, the paperwork, and such in an Expresspost envelope and a few weeks later 500 cd's will arrive at my door.
Get your $10 bills ready.

"Last Beautiful Customer"
and "Six to Psilocybe" are mixed. We're playing
with some mastering, but we will probably leave that to James
and his fancy dancy tape machines and exciter boxes.
Next on deck: "Triumph & Insolence". "Do
You Think", and "Contagious", with Anthony's
help hopefully.
We're looking at mid- to late-August for a possible release
and some shows. Stay tuned.
Thanks for stopping by.

Finally started mixing! After some trials
and tribulations with Digital Performer (3.0 and 4.0) and
OS9/OSX, John and I decided to use Cubase SX. Everything is
working out great so far, and John has been hard at work.
Hoping to get a few hours of mixing in this weekend.
The artwork is basically done
and we've got a great quote from Indiepool
for 500 cds.
More updates soon.

"New" pictures up in the images
section.
The shows went well, and Wintersleep played a heckuva set.
Now it's back to the business of mixing, which SHOULD begin
this week as soon as John's CD drive arrives.
We have a few t-shirts left. Only in Medium and Small though.
Send an e-mail to
order one. Still $15 with free delivery in Wolfville or Chester.
$20 shipped I'd say.
Other than that, school is quite busy and graduation is coming
up for three members of the band. The future is uncertain,
but we are definitely finishing up this CD and there'll always
be some of us dedicated to moving this band along.
Thanks for coming to the recent shows and for sending emails/signing
the guestbook.

crashingblue.com has a new home: we
just bought a webserver, and everything is finally transferred
over to the new webspace.
this new server will allow to host more content (ie: audio,
video, and images), as well as provide some great new features,
like our new message
board. please check it out, register, and make some posts
if you wish. also, if you'd like to be on our e-mail list,
send an e-mail to cb@crashingblue.com.
a new guestbook will also be on the way soon, and the layout
will be changing slightly in the next few weeks. in the meantime,
keep signing the old one, and keep sending those e-mails.
last, but certainly not least, we have some shows coming up
in february. check the dates page for tentative locations.

Eleven
new songs on the go, and more being written every day. The
last song we wrote was "Six to Psilocybe" and Chris
finished the lyrics to that song at the end of January, 2003.
Albeit we did arrange some songs between now and then, we
still haven't written a full song since. That is about to
change, and we're excited to start working on new material,
while still being excited about mixing the record and getting
it out there.
John and I are going to delve into mixing the record ourselves.
We'll see how it goes. Our thinking is that it will be much
easier to get everyone involved and allow everyone to hear
everything as the mixing progresses. We also won't have to
drive down to Lunenburg and James won't have to fit us in
to his hectic schedule.
More updates in the days to come.
Thanks
for stopping by.

Just in the studio for the weekend mixing. James and I are
having a grand old time swearing at the computer and trying
to block out the noise of the hideous Christmas music playing
in the street below.
I'll give a full update after the mixing has come along a
bit more. Besides that though, the CD art is pretty much complete,
and below is an unofficial tracklisting for The Relevance
You Wear:
01. six to psilocybe
02. last beautiful customer
03. triumph & insolence
04. do you think
05. fallen
06. talking on caramel
07. shiver
08. waterproof
09. contagious
10. waiting man
Till next time,

Most
of the recording has been finished for "The Relevance
You Wear". There are a few vocal tracks left to record,
as well as backing vocals, and some other little tidbits.
No official tracklisting yet, but the CD will feature 10 studio
tracks and 1 live track, and some possible surprises as well.
We
are really excited about the direction the CD has taken, and
are very pleased with the quality of the recording, even though
it's not even mixed or mastered yet!
Stay
tuned for updates on tracklisting and finalization, and some
possible sneak peeks as well.

Thanks
to everyone who came out to the show in Lununberg! Your support
is much appreciated, and the ticket sales and t-shirt raffle
brought us within budget for our CD.
Speaking of our CD, we're about half-way done recording, and
we've decided to make a full-length album, rather than an
EP. We're aiming for 12 songs, including a bonus live track,
from the July 11th show. We finish recording July 25-27th,
and then we have to mix and master in August sometime, meanwhile
getting the CD art done, etc.
Stay tuned for more info about the CD (release dates, where
to buy, etc.), and thanks again for all your support.

it's been quite some time since
we last updated the news section, but here it goes:
1.)
New website is finally up. Still under some construction,
but it's here.
2.) We are recording a live show on July 11th at the Lunenburg
Opera House. 8:30pm / $5. We are going to use material from
this show for our upcoming CD, which we are recording at Redfish
Audio (above the Opera House) from July 11th-13th and July
25th-27th. Mixing and mastering will be in August and we desperately
want to get the disc out for September. Come to the show and
be a part of our first release!
3.) "Last Beautiful Customer" will be featured in
the full-length independent film "Last Act of Charity",
produced by Sandshark Films. The movie will be in post-production
during August, and the soundtrack features all original music
from lots of great bands. More details to come, but for now,
check out http://www.lastactofcharity.com.
4.) Look for upcoming articles in local papers like The Chester
Clipper and the Bridgewater Bulletin, as well as possible
airplay on Q104 Halifax, C103 Moncton, and Magic 94.9 Kentville.
Thanks
for visiting the site and be sure to sign the guest book or
drop us an e-mail.
cheers,

1) battle of the bands was
an amazing time. we were really tight and had a blast onstage.
after our set, we didn't even care about winning. we knew
that we had played well together and that's all that mattered.
turned out we played well enough to win. our friends, rap
group The Sound and the Fury came second, and Picture Show
was third. Chris and Dwayne graced the cover the Athenaeum
this week.
2)
chester was a decent time. scotty's v-amp lost of all its
settings and we couldn't really hear anything onstage. but
other than that, we were once again very tight, and got the
crowd into it. the event raised over $2400 for the local foodbank.
3)
we're getting some demo cd's burned off and making some stick
on labels to take to clubs, and also to a PR place next week.
hopefully we'll get some gigs in the new year and get on to
recording the cd.
4)
other than that, we're writing some new tunes (4 on the go
right now) and honing our skills and stage show.
cheers,
matt

just a few things to share:
beach
bash and carve for cure went pretty well. lots of people out
and lots of money raised for the business society and cancer
research respectively. there'll be some pics up in the near
future.
today
was a day of adventures. we decided to do a photo shoot on
the most overcast day without rain in recent memory. we were
in a field, on some stairs, on a bridge, on a trail, at a
coffee shop, and just walking around the main drag here in
wolfville. they'll be developed this week and we're going
to pick one or two for a press kit. as for the rest, they'll
hopefully be scanned and be used in the website design, or
at the very least be on display in the image gallery.
we
have some more shows coming up soon. one is for sure: November
16th in Chester at the Fos'cle Tavern. another Foodbank fundraiser.
there are two others which are still up in the air and we'll
post the dates and info as soon as they're confirmed.
other
than that, we're writing some new tunes (3 on the go as of
today, with 3 or 4 more to work on), planning some more shows,
and applying for more funding and other fun things.
stayed
tuned.
