Crashing Blue (September 2000 - Present)
Crashing Blue was the brainchild of Matt Corkum, Chris Hearn, and Scott Fraelic. The three met at Acadia University in September of 2000 and by November they had recruited Dwayne Henley and John McCarthy to join. They immediately began writing their own blend of alt-rock, and numerous shows followed.
After a few self-recorded demos, the band headed to Redfish Audio (then in Martin's River, NS) to record a 3-track demo.
The band then returned to songwriting and performing until July of 2003 when they headed to the new Redfish Audio location in Lunenburg, NS. By the end of September, they had recorded tracks for their debut album. A year later, The Relevance You Wear was released.
Around the time of the release, Fraelic left the band to pursue other endeavors in Ottawa and eventually Australia. Friend and mixing collaborator Anthony page stepped in to play guitar for a few shows, and the band started a slightly new direction in their songwriting.
2005 will see Crashing Blue performing a series of dates throughout the spring and summer. The band also hopes to start recording a new EP, and friend Brett Ellis will be adding his synth and electronic skills to the band's sound.
